Artist Statement

I have a multidisciplinary practice, though I often work with oil and acrylic paints or mixed media. I also explore ceramics and printmaking. My work is deeply emotionally driven, and I frequently create pieces that are process-oriented. This sometimes means producing several works before arriving at a result that satisfies me. At other times, when I feel compelled to create a piece with a specific meaning, I carefully plan and test ideas before executing the final work.

When painting, I work quickly and decisively, using color and emotional expression as the central strengths of my practice. I make art because I have always felt constrained within myself, struggling to communicate. Art allows me to step outside of myself, express my inner world, and connect with others in a way that feels authentic and comfortable.
